JKBOSE Releases Pass Marks for Class 11th Exams 2024 and Shares Important Updates for Students

In a recent development, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued a significant notice regarding the marks distribution scheme for the academic session 2023-24, specifically aimed at Higher Secondary Part-1st (Class 11th) students.

The notice, emanating from their New Campus in Bemina, Srinagar, and Rehari Colony, Jammu, provides detailed insights into the minimum marks required for passing in various subjects.

According to the guidelines set forth by JKBOSE, students are required to secure a minimum of 33% in General English and 36% in each of the remaining four elective subjects chosen by the candidate.

It is crucial to note that in subjects with practical examinations, candidates must obtain a minimum of 36% in both theory and practicals, maintaining this threshold separately in the practical test and internal assessment, as well as in the aggregate of theory and practicals.

Furthermore, the notice addresses a significant aspect concerning candidates who may fall short of passing by a marginal deficit of not more than five marks in one or more subjects. In such scenarios, the board will extend a provision to notionally add the required marks, up to a maximum of five marks, to the candidate’s advantage.

However, it’s important to highlight that this concession will not be applicable to practical examinations, neither in internal assessments nor external examinations.

Additionally, JKBOSE has taken proactive measures to equip students with updated syllabi, courses of studies, and scheme of assessment for fourteen vocational subjects.

These resources are readily accessible on the board’s official website, providing students with comprehensive guidance and support as they navigate through their academic journey.

This critical announcement, documented under No: F(Acad-C)MD-XI/24 and dated 10-02-2024, carries the authority of the Director of Academics at JKBOSE.
